Players waited a long time for Bethesda to drop its “next gen update” for Fallout 4 and in true Bethesda fashion the update broke just as much as it changed, if not more.
The last few weeks have been nothing if not frustrating for many players in the Fallout 4 community. Players are falling through the floor at Charleston Condo, VATS has a number of different issues, the When Pigs Fly quest is broken on Xbox, and so on. In addition, broken mods and slapped together implementations of quality-of-life features such as ultrawide support on PC have left players sour on the update.
Things have been so frustrating, in fact, that much so that many players on PC have resorted to rolling back the update in order to play their more stable, functional version of the game – mods included.
In a new post shared by Bethesda on Twitter/X, the developer promised a new Fallout 4 patch will drop on Monday, May 13, adding new graphics and performance options, as well as vague “fixes and improvements.”
On Monday, May 13 we will be updating Fallout 4 on all platforms. This update will include new options for graphics and performance settings as well as further fixes and improvements. Thanks for your continued feedback and support!

Hopefully the update addresses the pain points players have been dealing with, but I wouldn’t blame anyone for being apprehensive that it might break even more than it fixes.
