Deadlock is a 6v6 hero shooter reportedly in development at Valve and it features characters ranging from magicians to monsters, humans, and more. The report suggests there are 19 heroes with playstyles more akin to a MOBA with healers, tanks, assassins, and the like.
The gameplay is described in the report as being much more like a MOBA. The game includes creeps that players will kill in order to capture “souls that can be spent to purchase items. The souls float out of bodies of creeps when they die and players capture them by shooting them in mid-air. Souls can also be deposited into “spirit urns” in the center of the map to earn a team-wide souls bonus.
The report doesn’t make mention of a confirmed release date, but speculation suggest it may show up sometime in 2025.
