Ubisoft will hold a new closed beta this week on PC for its upcoming MMO Skull and Bones. The invite-only beta will invite players via Ubisoft Connect and will run from tomorrow, August 24th at 7:00 p.m. Pacific time through August 28th at 12:00 a.m. Pacific time.
If you have applied to test Skull and Bones, and you were accepted to this beta test, your invite should be sent via Ubisoft Connect. Ubisoft has made it so that any beta player can also invite two other friends to join them into the closed beta, which isn’t under NDA, so stream away.
You can already preload the game, and the team has included PC specs in their closed beta announcement. The specs listed go from minimum requirements to recommend it all the way up to a 2K and a 4K setup.
Those who test Skull and Bones this week can explore a couple of areas, as well as take on a limited portion of the main campaign contracts.
“Located within the Red Isle is the pirate den of Sainte Anne. Ruled by John Scurlock, the local Kingpin you'll deal with as you start your rise to the top of the pirate world. This den is a safe zone where you can interact with other players, craft your ships, weapons, and equipment with the help of the skilled artisans who have made their home here. You'll be able to access a warehouse to store your loot, repair your ship, sell the commodities you liberated from rich merchants, and more.
Explore this part of the world as well as the Coast of Africa during the Closed Beta, as you meet the different factions present in-game and face them peacefully or turn against them in-combat.”
This is just the beginning, as there will be some other ways to explore as well as test out the systems and mechanics. In terms of progression, you'll be able to reach as high as Buccaneer Infamy Tier in the test.
Ubisoft even has a number of closed beta rewards for helping them test things out, including an emote and some ship cosmetics.
