Clockwork Labs is showing off the world of BitCraft with a new cinematic that takes us through some of the scenery and characters we’ll find in the upcoming sandbox MMORPG.

BitCraft is set in a world where players will build most things, so there is an emphasis on discovery, activities like farming and crafting, and socialization, along with social strategy and survival mechanics. The new cinematic is a brief one, set to original music from the team of Austin Wintory and Rachel Hardy. It is packed with scenery even in just a 30-second teaser.

The team is gearing up for its next playtest, which is set for June 16th. This will focus on the game’s Empire system, so it’s not going to be a full, in-depth test like the last alpha test held back in April. Still, showing off more of the world does set the mood for a game the team has already expressed a desire to be a real community-centered survival sandbox.

From a town, we see trees and other environments, a character climbs up a wall on the side while we see the wall is located near a rippling river, which gives us a little taste of reflections and light and water effects. Next, we see a mysterious character building something, followed by a different character walking through some trees with red, golden, and green leaves. The rest of the teaser shows off other similar imagery, including more of those water effects and Even includes a character sailing on a boat in an ocean. Some fish swim nearby and we see the trail of sunlight on the water’s surface.

It’s a short teaser, but it gives insight into what the BitCraft team is building in terms of some of the environments to expect. There’s still mystery around some of the systems and features, but with more testing to come, we expect more info soon.
