PvP Caravans are the highlight of the most recent Ashes of Creation gameplay video, as Intrepid Studios gave an expansive look at the feature in its latest video.
The video shows PvP Caravan gameplay in all its glory, with a group of attackers descending on an unsuspecting caravan like a pack of wolves. Why you would risk your goods in a caravan is purely because of efficiency. While you could just run resources between nodes in your inventory, caravans allow you to run more goods more efficiently between nodes, but the danger is that it's out there for all to see - and take for their own.
Ashes of Creation's developers showcase that danger in all its glory. After swiftly dealing with the caravaners and taking their loot, the group now has the task of transporting their own ill-gotten goods, which requires a caravan of their own. Faced with defending their own caravan from attackers, the video then focuses on the various ways you have to transport a caravan, including overcoming even the terrain itself. At one point, the developers have to build a raft to literally ferry their resources across a river.
It's a great way to kick off the year for Ashes of Creation, which is gearing up for its Alpha 2 phase sometime in Q3 2024. The gameplay on offer in the video looks fantastic, though, and it'll be interesting to see how these systems become more refined as development continues.
