Albion Online’s recent announcement that a new “creative council” of three would assume leadership was accompanied by an invitation to submit questions for the new leadership team. Now, they’re answering those questions in the latest dev video.
Former Game Director and CEO Robin Henkys is joined by Game Director Moritz Bokelmann and Co-Creative Director Michael Schwahn, who are two of the three new creative leads. We’ll still see Henkys in videos sometimes, but the new team will be who will ultimately lead the next DevTalk installments.
In fact, they have plans for the long term and they want to continue to expand in ways that support all kinds of players. This is reflected in content they've added to expand options in the Outlands, more recently for smaller-scale groups and solo players too, which followed lots of group content, like sieges.
Expect PVP reworks and improvements, including to faction warfare in the short term. They're also looking at endgame overhauls and improvements alongside new content. we can also expectPvE experiences and additional content with potential new factions and even biomes. they'll continue updating the lore as needed as well. Longer term, they’ll speak more on that, but development is always impacted by time it takes to do a feature, what the community is actually asking for, and of course, resources.
The full Q&A runs nearly an hour, so they get pretty in depth about the transition and what their plans are. In general, these new creative council members are long-standing developers and contributors to the game, and they are fully committed to long-term growth and development.
