The next module for Neverwinter, Northdark Reaches, will be out on November 8th. This module has been developed in collaboration with RA Salvatore and his son, Geno Salvatore, based on the first two books in the elder Salvatore’s The Way of the Drow trilogy.
The module will explore events taking place in between the first two of the novels, Starlight Enclave, and Glacier’s Edge. King Bruenor has called for aid to figure out what happened to Braelin Janquay, Gauntlgym’s trusted scout. So now, of course, it’s up to you to investigate the mysterious disappearance and to answer the dwarven king’s call for aid.
Players that take on this task will discover a new region of the Underdark, and be introduced to players in factions where tensions are growing, and potentially heading towards major conflict. Among the characters that will be making an appearance are myconid Rumpadump, Saribel Xorlarrin Do’Urden, and Minolin Fey.
Since the events of this update take place in between the first two books in the series, there’s plenty of room for surprises for both book fans and Neverwinter players. With RA and Geno Salvatore on board to help the team develop the update, fans of both IPs are probably a little more assured about the partnership and how things will play out. This isn't RA Salvatore's first Neverwinter collaboration either, so it's in good hands.
This is a peek at some of the events to come, but there will be plenty of challenges. The module will include several repeatable instances, The Tower of Gabsul Nasad, Neirt Elamnshin, and the Mycellial Depths. The Temple of the Spider dungeon gets an overhaul, and this update will Introduce those changes in both normal and master difficulty versions. The Neverwinter team also promises some quality-of-life improvements like an updated inventory system.
Neverwinter: Northdark Reaches looks to take us all into new places when the update is out on all platforms on November 8th.
