Neverwinter’s 30th module is out today on all platforms. As Above, So Below – Return to Pirates’ Skyhold, takes us back to a revamped classic Adventure Zone for new and revamped content, mysteries to solve, and updated challenges.
Yes, we're heading into the skies and part of the challenge is to find out what happened in the past and see if you can work to lift a dangerous curse that has cost many lives in the area. Essentially, you'll journey to the Pirates’ Skyhold and you'll learn what happened to those that fell to the curse here. If you learn the right lessons from the past, and connect it to the present, you might just be able to end the curse.
The entire area has been overhauled and there are new challenges to discover. Expect six new Heroic encounters, 10 Named encounters, and a whole series of new quests, along with rewards. You don't head into an adventure with pirates without some treasure.
Along the way, there are four updated instances and a big change for The Dread Vault, which has been overhauled and is unvaulted. It has a new name to go along with these major changes: The Dread Sanctum. It is the classic dungeon you know, but it has been completely updated with all monsters and bosses reworked, and a brand new boss finale. So even if you have been playing Neverwinter for a long time, or even have been here since the beginning, there's something new for you here too.
There are new rewards, and they vary based on the difficulty you choose. Choose Normal difficulty to queue up and just get into a party to take on the challenge. Advanced difficulty is for your better organized groups to take on together. Master difficulty is for guilds who really want to test how well they work together. You'll need to be well coordinated, but because this is the hardest difficulty level, it's also home to the best loot.
There are a number of quality of life improvements and additional changes to the player experience. One of the biggest improvements to player experience in this update is now you'll be able to create and save two power sets from the power page and quick swap them as needed. Guild and alliance renaming is easier, and the guild log shows more info. Companions also get updates and improvements to discover.
