The Neverwinter team recently unveiled a new plan for updates: Interludes, smaller separate updates that will happen in between modules to keep offering things to do and rewards to collect.
The Interludes announcement came recently, coinciding with the first update: The Bloom Before the Blood, going live. The idea behind these mid-module updates is to have more stuff to do, events, goals, challenges and more rewards. When a new Neverwinter module goes live, it can be a while to wait before there’s new major content.
Enter these new updates. In addition to offering everyone more stuff to do while they wait, they're also intended to combat player retention issues and drops that typically follow the surge after new content.
“Interludes don’t replace Modules or delay content. Instead, they give us more opportunities to bring new rewards, fresh challenges, and meaningful updates to the game. Think of them as bonus updates, adding even more reasons to jump back into Neverwinter.”
During The Bloom Before the Blood, Day of the Dungeon Master is happening from March 11-April 1st, letting everyone earn tokens throughout the event to exchange them for rewards. From April 2nd through April 16th, get ready for April Fowls and lots and lots of feathers. This will feature a new mount, four vanity pets, and a new Artifact.
A limited-time minor event, Festival of Rubies, happens from April 17-25th. More details will be on the way closer to the event start but this one is “celebrating riches and rewards”.
As for those improvements, the first Interlude included a one-click item collect button for auction house mail, a way to quickly copy your character’s name to the clipboard, and made mount insignia bonuses visible in places like your inventory.
There’s a mini Battle Pass with free and premium tracks and a couple of lockbox items. You could get the Glorious Undead Lion Mount or the Artifact: Nightflame Censer from boxes.
