NetEase’s Q1 financial report showed growth, with an increase in year-over-year revenue, and profit, with the company’s games division leading the way.

Open-world wuxia MMO Where Winds Meet, which launched in December, now has more than 30 million registered players. Marvel Rivals was also a bright spot. Releases like these, the company noted, helped them to diversify their portfolio into more genres. Once Human’s mobile launch last month was also favorable, as it “quickly claimed the No.1 position on the iOS download charts in more than 160 regions upon its April 2025 launch, garnering significant global attention”.

For the first quarter, net revenue hit 4 billion USD, up from around $3.7 billion in Q1 2024.

The return of NetEase as the operator of Blizzard’s major franchises in China was off to a great start. World of Warcraft and Hearthstone held  regional events, and the return of Overwatch to China hit a new record for regional peak concurrent players. Diablo 3 is currently in technical testing and will also return to China soon.  In comparison to the same quarter last year, they report a 12.1% increase in revenue from games and related value-added services

NetEase announced that Destiny: Rising, their project set in Bungie’s Destiny universe, will hold a new beta test ahead of a likely August launch. Other titles in development include Marvel Mystic Mayhem and Ananta (formerly known under the codename Project Mugen).
