NCSoft’s recently unveiled Throne and Liberty seems to be headed to PlayStation 5 along with its originally announced PC release.
This news comes from a report via Technosteria, which refers to a South Korean publication, Inven, which shared an interview with NCSoft representatives. In that interview, throne and Liberty, formerly known as Project TL, came up. The company representatives were asked whether or not they believe the game could be further delayed by the Covid-19 pandemic, but they responded that by summer they should have a more specific announcement about a release schedule. However, before we learn about any release dates, they plan on doing some testing first.
Another detail in the interview was that the game is now set for release on PlayStation 5. As part of this interview, Inven was shown images from the PlayStation 5 version, confirming at least one console release. One place where the team did not get into specifics was about the game’s business model.
“The genres we prepare inside are very diverse, and we are designing BMs (business models) that fit them,” said director Choi Moon-young (quotes via Google Translate). Details on just what the Throne and Liberty business model might look like might also be revealed in the summer, as they’re saying 4th quarter for a possible release.
Throne and Liberty has been through various incarnations on its way to what looks like the final stretch. Now with the confirmation of a PlayStation 5 release, plans seem to be coming together in more depth.
NCSoft also plans to begin revealing more about its related game, Project E, soon. Both games are set in the same world at the same time, but will each have a different focus. Core events that happen in both games still occur but affect circumstances and people differently.
