NCSoft has published a new Throne and Liberty video showing off Siege Golems, different types, characteristics, and how to transform into them for battle.
The full video is available in Korean but the YouTube auto translate is helpful for English speakers. All names here were taken from auto-translations, so final names may be different.
Siege warfare is a big part of Throne and Liberty and Siege Golems can be part of your arsenal.
Once you’ve managed to transform, you won’t be able to use your usual skills or weapons, and you’ll have to rely on the particular type of golem skills you have access to. As for those golem types, there are four, and the video shows them off.
The Stone Crusher has a pretty straightforward name, and since this is about siege warfare, we get a feeling these will come in handy. As you might guess, the Stone Crusher is really good at destroying walls. One of its basic skills is Unrestricted Strike, Which is spammable and you can damage walls, towers, and gates using it. Another skill, Furious Push causes heavy damage to the siege structure and sends enemies up into the air. You can also drag some enemies under you, locking and controlling them.
The Battle Carrier is another golem type that you’ll find useful. Also exactly what it sounds like, this golem type can be mounted. It exists about the same height as a castle wall so you can transport your allies over to the castle you are seeing and allow them easy access and traversal of the walls. Skills can assist boarding and placement and easier wall crossing.
The third type is the Date Hammer. This is your ranged attacker golem. It's huge, and specializes in destroying castle gates from a distance with lava balls, its basic spammable skill. Since it’s a ranged attacker, you’ll have to rely on good positioning. One of its skills sees it launch itself into the direction it's facing and create a huge explosion that also strikes enemies on top of the wall before leaping back to its original position.Another skill reduces damage you and your allies nearby receive.
Jump Attacker is the final type, and this one is also what you’re guessing. You can jump in the direction you're looking to damage and stun enemies around where you land. This is your heavy hitter, and way to leap up to higher terrain, or even enter a vulnerable stronghold.
Throne and Liberty promises large-scale battles and strategic use of the environment will play a role, including via transformation into golems and other creatures. It will be a while before the game is released globally, but NCSoft continues to provide new releases from the Korean version to chew over.
