A week after announcing she would be leaving the studio she helped establish in Pearl Abyss America, Jeonghee Jin's next adventure has been revealed, taking the role of CEO at NC America.
Jin brings over 15 years of experience in the games industry to the new role, which will see her overseeing the operations of its American outfit. NC America was formed last year as part of internal restructuring at NCSOFT and is labeled as a "marketing and sales" arm of NCSOFT's American operations, according to the Korea Economic Daily Global Edition.
"I am delighted to join NCSOFT, a first-generation Korean videogame company, in its global growth strategy," Jin stated in the official press release. "I will do my utmost to ensure that NCSOFT's game development capabilities and values are more widely recognized on the global stage and to help the company reach new heights."
NCSOFT also announced today the appointment of a new CEO to its other American division, NC West. NCSOFT's co-CEO Byungmoo Park will helm this, while NC Japan and NC Taiwan will now be overseen by Wonki Lim, NCSOFT's Chief Business Management Officer.
NCSOFT is gearing up to release its global version of its latest MMORPG, Throne & Liberty next month, which will be published by Amazon Games here in the West. Meanwhile, ArenaNet's Guild Wars 2, which is published by NCSOFT, is slated to launch its next expansion, Janthir Wilds, later this month. NCSOFT's American operations have struggled in the past, with the studio seeing 20% of its workforce laid off last year.
