Naraka: Bladepoint’s 13th season: Aeon Treasure, is here, adding the latest new hero, Kylin Zhang, along with events to get you started with him. The new update also adds some limited time events, balance changes, several optimized features, and new cosmetics.
Kylin Zhang is a character from the web novel series Time Raiders, by Chinese author Kennedy Xu. The Naraka: Bladepoint team has worked to keep him aligned with his depiction in the series while also integrating him into the hero lineup. He looks like a young man but is really 110 years old and the head of the Zhang family. He's the patriarch but also an immortal who holds the Qilin line within him. In Chinese legends, a Qilin is a mythical creature that is sometimes compared to a unicorn.
There's a new trailer for Kylin, showing his gameplay and emphasizing the air of mysteriousness that accompanies him, as well as the power he holds deep within. In the showcase, we see his sword skills that let him traverse spaces rapidly, knock enemies airborne, and finish the job, including through use of his second sword coated in Qilin blood.
With his release, the team has a limited event, Qilin Descends, that offers opportunities to complete daily quests to get trial vouchers for Kylin Zhang and Qilin gold. Use the gold to redeem rewards. Kylin also gets some cosmetics in the shop, with a new pack with aTime Raiders hoodie and more.
Season 13 is called Aeon Treasure, and features a number of thematic ties inspired by traditional Chinese culture. There are creatures taken from the Chinese text Classic of Mountains and Seas, along with Creatures Myth and Fengshen Chronicles cosmetics inspired by Chinese mythology and traditional culture.
There are a few quality of life changes, including type sorting in the inventory, and client optimization affecting required storage space for models and rendering performance.
