Naraka: Bladepoint is getting major new content to mark its first anniversary and today the new Campaign mode, Showdown, is underway. This content is a free update out today.
According to NetEase, Naraka has sold over 10 million copies, and the new Showdown campaign mode is a new weekend mode in the now cross-platform Battle Royale game. When launching Showdown, you’ll pick from four heroes with their own powers and abilities, and as you progress during the mode, your character will get new equipment and you'll be able to unlock new skills. Players will team up in groups of three to take on challenges across two different stages. The first stage will involve battling hordes of enemies on the map and the second will be a huge boss battle.
This is the start of new options to play in Naraka: Bladepoint, and will expand the game. Further expanding the game will be the upcoming Holoroth map that will arrive on August 19th. That huge, multi-layered, and multi-level map will introduce a series of new features, including a weather system, interactive objects that you can use in your strategy, as well as traps. In addition to a huge map and different biomes, from deserts to snow, there are associated dangers and obstacles from harsh weather. Snow will slow you down, for instance.
The update bringing Holoroth will also revive Sunwing and include two new female heroes, including Ziping Yin.
For now, until that update is here, there’s still this new content to take on, team up with others on, and work for your rewards. Over the past year, there have been new heroes and modes, and the new campaign mode and upcoming huge map look like they’re making a memorable anniversary for fans.
The cross-platform game will also reach potential new fans, since after being released on Xbox Series X\S and as part of Game Pass, support for Xbox One is on the way, and a mobile version is set for later in 2022.
