EverQuest is getting set to open up two new Time-Locked Progression servers, Teek and Tormax, and the name registrations for the two new servers are already open.
The two new servers will be launching May 22nd, with access to Ruins of Kunark. Each server has its own rules to distinguish them and help any member who wants to play on the new servers pick one to call home.
Progression on both servers will be standard, slower than live, but faster than the original EverQuest launch. progression will speed up at certain points. Both Teek and Tormax will get new expansion unlocks at the same pace, with Ruins of Kunark the launch fondation, followed by Scars of Velious 12 weeks later, and eight weeks after that, Shadows of Luclin. Eight weeks after that, Planes for Power and Legacy of Ykesha will open up, and Dungeons of Norrath 12 weeks later. Four weeks after that comes Gates of Discord, and eight weeks after this, Omens of War and Dragons of Norath. More content will follow.
While the release cadence matches, Teek Features randomized loot and a higher spawn rate for rare NPCs. Rare NPCs and raid bosses will each drop loot from a pool of NPCs at a similar level within the same expansion they come from. This also includes themselves. Teek also features free trade on the server.
Name reservations have also been announced for the servers, with the rules of the name reservation system aiming to provide a fair way to get interested players in and prevent name grabbing. Criteria that determines when your ability to reserve a name opens up includes being at least level 50, how much playtime you've invested into EverQuest, and whether you've changed your character's name within the past month. When the servers open, all names will be first come, first served.
