One of the highlights of World of Warcraft: Legion is the upcoming Mythic Keystone system, the subject of a new developer blog post on the World of Warcraft community site. Mythic Keystones will begin dropping in the game on September 20th.

The first Mythic dungeon a player completes each week will drop a keystone that will unlock a random scaling dungeon at level 2. Once a keystone is used, a timer begins and to complete the dungeon for loot that will be delivered to class order halls the following week.

At dungeon levels 4, 7, 10, a new monster modifier will be added, some of which include:

Example Keystone modifiers include:

  • Raging—Non-boss enemies enrage at 30% health remaining, dealing 100% increased damage until defeated.
  • Bolstering—When any non-boss enemy dies, its death cry empowers nearby allies, increasing their maximum health and damage by 20%.
  • Skittish—Enemies pay far less attention to threat generated by tanks.
  • Volcanic—While in combat, enemies periodically cause gouts of flame to erupt beneath the feet of distant players.

Gear drops begin at iLevel 845 but with Warforged or Titanforged modifiers, can scale up to iLevel 895.
