Multiplayer survival crafting sandbox Myth of Empires has teased its Hellenic DLC before, with previews of architecture and content. The DLC is out now, and the full game and content are on sale to mark the launch.
The new DLC adds the first new civilization, Hellas. The new civilization is inspired by Ancient Greece and brings a number of new features and options in an all-new style. That's right, regardless of which map you tend to play on, The new DLC will give you a whole bunch of new options to make things look very different. There are new building styles and materials, 12 new light and heavy armor sets that you can craft when you gather enough ore, and 15 new weapons that are unique to the Hellenic civilization. Weapons include the Spear of Promachos, the Epsilon Axe, the Xipos Sword, and Lycean Mallet.
The Bireme, a new warship, becomes available. And there are six new musical instruments, including the Pandean Pipes, and Hermes’ Lyre. There are two new types of specialized construction projects, the Brazen Bull and Pandora's Box. If you construct the bull, you'll be able to get NPC Warriors to submit to your rule. Pandora's Box on the surface is a very large storage crate. However, if enemy players try to steal your items, they need to prepare to face a whole series of tough debuffs.
The DLC also adds three new workbenches – Hephaestus’ Forge, Hephaestus' armor bench and the Sacred Furnace. All of these benches are inspired by ancient Greek architectural design and have two crafting queues each.
The Hellenic DLC has a 10% off launch discount, bringing it to $11.69. The Myth of Empires base game is now on sale as part of the Steam Summer Sale, along with all prior DLC content, like the Dongzhou map and music instrument packs.
