The mid-season patch for MultiVersus is here, and there's also a new fighter on the way: Agent Smith from The Matrix. The update adds the free-for-all game mode, spectator mode, post game stats, and much more including a new PVE Rift.
Agent Smith is coming, and gets his own trailer showing the new fighter hitting, aiming, and also doing his signature dodging. If you play through the “Beat Rifts, Get Agent Smith Free!” event, completing enough tiers by well, beating Rifts, then you can play him as early as July 8th, before he goes on sale for everyone on July 23rd.
Speaking of Rifts, there’s a new one, The Megalodog PvE Rift is open now, and the next two on the way have been announced: “Age of Smith” and “Triple Threat”. Both of those will unlock sometime later this season.
The new Free for All mode has joined the PvP queue options. In this mode, you go ahead and battle against up to three other players in a simplified rule set mode. The team is looking for feedback on how this feels and plays, so if you're looking for a quick fight, get in and let them know.
Spectator Mode is also here for custom games, with up to four spectators in a lobby per game. Post-game stats are also back, You can follow along with how many ringouts you had and how much damage you're dealing on PVP or PVE matches and perhaps battle yourself to improve.
The update also features a number of balance changes and some quality of life updates. there is a new daily free item that you can collect in the store to help you, and there is an option to edit perks in custom game modes. you can also now turn outline colors and team colors off or on in both PVE and PVP.
WB is also re-adding some of the input preference settings that were previously available in open beta. There are details on all the changes in the full patch notes.
