Myth of Empires has opened up a limited-time Steam playtest starting today through January 30th. The test comes as the open world survival sandbox set against the backdrop of war prepares for launch next month.
Hop onto the DongZhou map, new to the game and ready to officially launch with version 1.0. The map introduces the sea, the ability to build ships, explore the islets, and volcanoes, and offers several ways to get around. One of those is the Scythe Wagon, which you’ll need to tame a horse for, but you can also learn how to glide around high too.
As a multiplayer survival game, the world features dangers and also resources. It's your job to decide how you want to play, and the game does emphasize freedom. There are enemies, including a boss to encounter on the new map, but it’s up to you how you spend your time. Maybe you want to build fortresses, raise and lead armies, and siege and capture other cities to build your own empire. Or maybe you want to tame animals, explore the world, build a community, and play more peacefully with others. It’s up to you.
The playtest will offer everyone the chance to get a feel for Myth of Empires and its various systems. Survival and war game fans may have the easiest time getting up to speed, but the Angela Game team intends to have lots to choose from.
There will be PVE and PVP servers, options for guilds, official and private servers, hosted options, and more to suit your playstyle.
If you are interested in the playtest, you'll have to go to the Myth of Empires Steam page and click “request access”.
Myth of Empires is set for launch on PC on February 21st via Steam, with a console release sometime later in the year.
