Multiplayer Brawler MultiVersus Is Now Live On PC, Xbox And PlayStation

Surpisingly No Switch Version

The free-to-play Smash Bros-like brawler, MultiVersus, is now officially live after a weeklong early access period. The Warner Bros brawler brings characters from across DC, Scooby-Doo, Game of Thrones and more to battle it out against each other.

The multiplayer brawler is obviously going to draw comparisons to Super Smash Bros, Nintendo's all-star brawler, and with good reason. Much of the presentation is identical, with characters fighting it out on stages to knock each other out of the ring. However, MultiVersus sees characters like Shaggy from Scooby-Doo able to hold his own against the likes of the Man of Steel himself, all while being protected by the affable Steven Universe, who in turn is being chased down by Arya Stark of Winterfell.

It's a weird combination.

The brawler has technically been out for a week, though you would have needed to either watch a stream for an hour or break down and buy one of the various founder's packs available for purchase. Since this is a free-to-play title, characters will need to be unlocked with currency, though you can earn gold through gameplay in-game to purchase them.

Either way, if you're looking for a good party game, or want something new to play in between raids, MultiVersus is free to play on Steam (and while not Steam Deck rated, it runs rather well in our testing), the Epic Game Store, Xbox and PlayStation consoles. The title also features full cross-play with each platform. Surprisingly it's not on Switch, and there's no indication it will be coming either.
