Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord Annouces War Sails Expansion, Coming June 17th

Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord announced its next upcoming expansion, which will launch this June. The naval themed War Sails will let players live out their Viking fantasy thanks to the new Nord faction, naval warfare, and more.

TaleWorlds revealed the new expansion during the Future Games Show, announcing alongside the expansion that the multiplayer action-RPG has sold through 5 million units across all platforms, noting that this figure does not include players accessing Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord on Xbox Game Pass or a PlayStation premium sub.

War Sails aims to bring a ton of new content to Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord with the new Nord faction, which players can trade, recruit or outright fight against, all on a newly expanded map which will include a new northern sea, complete with open waters to fight with your new naval vessel. 

Any Viking-themed expansion will need good naval combat, which Bannerlord is hoping to bring when June 17th comes around. According to TaleWorlds, you'll need to "master wind and water physics, board or ram ships" and more on the open seas to truly become the master of the waves. 

War Sails will launch alongside a free update, patch v1.3, which will also bring stealth and a disguise system, a Parley feature and so much more.
