With a bigger launch than anticipated, Star Vault has been working around the clock to fix the issues with Mortal Online 2’s servers as well as additional launch bugs. Meanwhile, they revealed that the game sold 110,000 copies and debuted as number four on Steam’s top 10 for the week.
When Mortal Online 2 launched last week, Star Vault was caught with an unexpectedly bigger launch than anticipated, but this came with the downside of having an unexpectedly bigger launch than anticipated. The stress test that the team put the game through late last year was thus just not adequate preparation for the real deal. They’re working on it though, which they have reassured everyone that’s frustrated and antsy to get started.
CEO Henrik Nyström made a statement at the end of January thanking everyone for their support as well as pledging that the team would do better to stabilize the servers and let people into the game as well as allow them to leave Haven, something they have been warned not to do, in light of the issues they’ve determined have been at fault. In addition, monthly subscription fees have been postponed until everything is fixed and running smoothly.
Now new fixes that should handle the issues long term for the login issues and when traveling to Myrland should happen in the coming days. The last update was at the end of January, but we should hope to see a patch soon.
In Nyström's initial statement, he communicated that their long-term goal was about 300,000 monthly players. Naturally, starting off at number four on the Steam charts for a full loot PvP sandbox MMORPG is no small thing, and it is clear that Star Vault does understand the frustration players are experiencing. Now we just have to see when the patch will arrive and more can begin their adventures.
