Mortal Online 2 has just released patch notes for 2.1.1.9 which introduces a host of new features and enhancements. The team outlined a lot of the new features which includes spider mounts, a ranked dueling system and several more notable changes. The team has also provided a video showing off a few of these updates in action.
If you haven't jumped into Mortal Online 2 in a while now may be a good time to return with the inclusion of their latest patch. The update introduces ranked dueling system, which allows players to engage in competitive PvP battles. Using the new radial interaction menu, players can now challenge each other to ranked or unranked duels, with eight rank tiers, each containing five divisions, the new system provides a structured progression system that adds a new competitive component to player-versus-player battles. Duels will also come to a merciful end, with mercy mode which will stop a player from dying if they lose the duel.
Star Vault also introduced spider mounts to the game. Adventurers will be able to tame and ride a variety of spiders, including the Clothos Worker and Mountain Spider. These mounts are particularly useful for traversing difficult terrain, as they can climb steeper slopes than other mounts making them ideal for navigating rugged environments.
The update also brings daily tasks, which can be undertaken once every 24 hours. These tasks, offered by Taskmasters throughout the game, provide players with higher rewards compared to regular tasks, offering a meaningful way to boost progression and keep players engaged on a daily basis.
A new surrender system was also introduced which is meant to bring a unique twist to player interactions. Players now have the option to surrender during encounters, allowing others to inspect their inventory. This is meant to give players the opportunity to show attackers that they are not a threat and have no useful weapons or gear to be killed over.
Beyond these new features, the update includes a range of optimizations aimed at improving the overall gameplay experience. Significant behind-the-scenes enhancements have been made to the server, reducing lag spikes and improving network responsiveness. The server handling of mailed items has been rebuilt, and technical adjustments have been implemented to lower memory usage and improve game performance.
Mortal Online 2 has made some strides lately with combat changes, updates to mounts, and their Unreal Engine 5 visual upgrade.
