Just a few days after NetEase revealed they will one again be partnering with Blizzard to bring World of Warcraft back to China, over two million players have already signed up to either recover or reactivate their accounts, or pre-registered in general.
World of Warcraft is still one of the most well-known MMORPGS in the genre, and though they have had a massive amount of ups and downs over the years, players just can't seem to help getting sucked back in. NetEase has announced that they will be renewing their partnership with the developers of World of Warcraft, and a plethora of players in China are rearing to get back into Azeroth.
What’s more is that over 1000 resumes have been submitted to Blizzard China since the renewal announcement, meaning there are plenty of people ready to get back into the game in a different way than just playing.
World of Warcraft was extremely popular in China, with over 60% of WoW Classic players residing there. Now, the exact timing on when players will be able to gain access to the servers one more is a bit foggy, and speculation says it may not happen before the launch of the new expansion The War Within.
Regardless of when the servers go live, we know for sure that the drive and will to play is there, which means the future of World of Warcraft, in general, could be heading in the right direction.
