Today, more than 100k invites for Pax Dei’s Wilderness Alpha are going out. Mainframe has a few more details on the test and a new community dev Q&A video.
The test will begin on Tuesday, April 23rd at 8:00 a.m. Eastern / 5:00 a.m. Pacific. When all of the servers are set to open in both test regions. The first invitation emails are set to start going out today, but the team continues to ask for patience because they are sending out more than 100,000 of them.
Right now, the team anticipates that the test will run for a week, ending at around 11:00 a.m. Eastern, 8:00 a.m. Pacific on April 30th. If you are participating, expect that you will receive two plots of land and four character slots to test out the game over the week (or more) that the Wilderness Alpha runs. Maybe you want to create a character that is more of a builder and farmer, but you also might want to test out what PvP is like and just how rewarding it is to risk heading into the PVP province of Lyonnesse.
The team also advises checking through their recent reveals and content to see exactly what else you might need to orient yourself before stepping into this world for the first time, or once again.
While you wait, there is a brand new community Q&A with streamer Eltarii, wrapping up the recent dev interview series by getting some answers for the community. New video is nearly an hour long, and includes questions and answers on everything from PvP zones, combat mechanics, controls, target locking, and what you should know to prepare yourself for the Alpha test as well as the game itself. The discussion in the video goes beyond the alpha test including future content and some of the design philosophy.
Mainframe emphasizes that they will continue to see how players impact the world and make other decisions on how they incorporate them into the game as time passes. The devs are clearly looking to create something long-lasting here, and if you are interested in Pax Dei now and in the future, it’s worth a watch.
