Magic: The Gathering has been seeing a ton of crossovers in recent years, and the latest one is sure to delight fans of Monty Python and the Holy Grail, as a new Secret Lair drop brings the movie to the Magic universe.

Secret Lairs, which are typically one-off collector items with new artwork on existing Magic cards, tend to be somewhat divisive in the community. However, when done well, they can be incredible collector showpieces or interesting new-look cards to throw in your decks when you shuffle up and play.

The latest Secret Lair teams the minds behind Magic: The Gathering with those of one of Britain's greatest exports: Monty Python. The comedy troupe has entertained fans for over fifty years, with arguably its most popular work, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, still entertaining old and new fans alike to this day. Now, Monty Python and the Holy Grail are being featured in two upcoming Secret Lair drops, showcasing iconic scenes from the movie while adding flavor to existing Magic cards.

These will be limited edition versions of these cards, releasing in two separate Volumes starting on July 29th. The first set, which includes reprints of cards like "Birds of Paradise," "Dismember," and more, is full of iconic scenes and callbacks to the movie. Birds of Paradise will see coconut-laden African and European Swallows put to rest whether a "5lb bird can carry a 1lb coconut." Buried Alive is reborn as "Bring out your Dead," calling back to the iconic scene where a man tries to shove his ailing (but decidedly not dead) father off on the Undertaker. Three Visits is reprinted as "We Want.... A SHRUBBERY!" reminding players that any task for the Knights Who Say Ni! is never fully done. And, considering the original card is all about going into your library and pulling out a Forest, it's also some nice flavor.

Dismember highlights probably one of the most enduring scenes in comedic cinema, with "Tis But A Scratch!" showcasing the duel between King Arthur and the Black Knight. And finally, the Prodigal Sorcerer is known now as "Tim The Enchanter," dealing one damage every time he decides to blow things up with a pyrotechnic display.

Volume 2 consists of three cards and a token, with Dark Depths reprinted as the "Castle of Aaargh," Door to Nothingness is now "The Bridge of Death" (just ensure you answer the three questions correctly) while we also see a callback to the famous Witch Burning scene with "Sir Bedivere's Scales" taking the role of Ashnod's Altar. The Token is the "Black Beast of Aaargh!" masquerading as the Marit Lage token you can create with Dark Depths.

You can try your hand at getting one of these Secret Lairs when they drop next week on July 29th. The sale will last until August 18th, or until Wizards sells out, and a limited edition of both volumes will also be available in foil.
