The Monsters & Memories team has a new development update covering July and August. This comes after stress tests and play tests, and recaps some of the development progress and insights (Not counting the test that began on August 31st).

The team made progress on a few fronts. There’s concept art for item icons, clothing sets, and a zone, along with art for a few NPCs and creatures, including the ominously titled Deep Dwarven “Flesh Collector”, and Haradrel the God of War.

They also made a number of advances on character art, including updating the human skeleton model to accommodate chest pieces and capes visually when equipped, a chainmail armor set, Helm fitting passes, and more faces for wood elves. We're also treated to examples of their dragon rig, and dragon animations. They've also progressed on skeletons, and we get a short clip featuring a halfling skeleton.

They've added a new crafting system and UI and offer some insight on what they're trying to do. some recipes you will know by your trade crafting skill level and others you can learn. the system will show which recipes you can make by having the components labeled in green and any missing ones are coded red. The recipes themselves are color coded by difficulty, and there will be an indicator showing how many attempts you have the materials for. They've also made it so that if you are crafting at a station and close the window, your items will be returned. Player friendly.

It's a long list, but if you love an inside look at creating zones and how concepts shift gradually to advanced designs, the Monsters & Memories recaps deliver on all that.

For those whose love of game art extends to music, there are two new music tracks to listen to.
