If you missed the last stress test for classic-inspired MMORPG Monsters & Memories you’re in luck, as the next stress test is happening tomorrow August 31st, 2024. The test is meant to determine the state of Niche Worlds Cult’s netcode, and poor performance is to be expected.
Monsters & Memories has been ramping up testing in recent weeks, culminating in multiple stress tests meant to push the multiplayer aspects of this fantasy MMORPG to the limits. In the next stress test, the developers have decided to merge multiple servers into one, forcing as many players as possible onto one server. Unlike the previous test, Niche Worlds Cult believe that they’ve optimized the game substantially, so they’re asking fans of the game to jump in and help if they’re able so they can obtain additional data.
To start the test, the Matswar and Sorophal servers will be merged with Relle. After the team retrieves the data, they are looking for, they have stated they will open up additional servers, spreading the population and allowing players to enjoy the game more casually. They also provided a disclaimer stating that players should expect Monsters & Memories to be rough around the edges, as this is a technical stress test, and the game is very much under development.
If you’d like to take part in the test, you’ll need to register for an account, log in, and then download the patch. The game will become available at 1PM EST on August 31st, so if you’re interested in joining, make sure you’re patched and ready to go by then!
