After months of relative quiet, Monster Hunter: Wilds unveiled a new trailer at the Summer Game Fest featuring new footage of the gameplay and sprawling desert setting.
Wilds officially looks like it'll lean back into Worlds's visual style and in-depth open-world by way of this new trailer, except with more emphasis on utilizing the massive desert world. Off the bat, we're already shown new mounted combat gameplay, and the player is seen climbing up massive dangerous sand pits.
The titular monsters traverse the land as well, climbing up rock structures and diving into the sand to create a pursuit. And, yes, we do see monsters fighting other monsters, one of the more unique environmental quirks of the major mainline Monster Hunter games.
The game touts at-launch cross-platform multiplayer, like World, through PS5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC. There'll also be a demo at Gamescom, if you're lucky enough to make it out there.
