During this weekend's MineCon 2018, Mojang twitterpated its worldwide community with some pretty awesome news including Minecraft: Dungeons. The game is said to be an "action-adventure" title that sends players on cooperative dungeon crawls while exploring "canyons, swamps and -- of course -- mines". Minecraft: Dungeons will make its debut in 2019.
You can brave the dungeons alone, or team up with friends. Up to four players can battle together through action-packed, treasure-stuffed, wildly varied levels, all in an epic quest to save the villagers and take down the evil Arch-Illager!
Of course, that's not all that was announced during the event. Here's what else Mojang has up its sleeve:
- Village & Pillage update - villages will be getting a "massive update" and a new mob type called Pillagers. This is part of a new development roadmap that will see the team "release one bit-impact update each year that will expand a different part of the game".
- Taiga Biome update - the community voted this biome as the next one to get updated "including the super-cute foxes"
- Cats and pandas are being added to Minecraft later in 2018. The dev team "even went to Chimlong Park in Guangzhou, China to record audio for the pandas in-game"
