Skydome, an upcoming online game from Kinship Entertainment, has been announced by MMO publisher Gamigo this morning. The game is described as blending tower defense and MOBA elements to create a "uniquely cooperative and competitive" game.

According to Gamigo, Skydome is a tower defense game that blends traditional elements of the genre with MOBA. this means players will not just be fighting waves of enemies and other players in a 4 v 4 mode, but also mixing in elements like jungling, utilizing the skills of the various Champions to choose from. Skydome also sees the traditional threats from jungling, such as bosses to take down. Players can also erect walls and new towers to protect their map from waves of enemies, working together to take down any threat that comes their way.

Via the press release from gamigo:

Created by an ancient people, Skydome is a temple floating high above the skies. From there, its Champions are all sent out to fight armies and monsters across the universe, using their own individual strategies and skills to create defenses and towers and dominate the battle arena. No two Champions are alike, giving players the opportunity to explore new abilities, defense towers and strategies with each hero.

In Skydome, players delve right into fast paced isometric action matches, with thrilling challenges waiting at every turn. Depending on each playstyle, players can craft elaborate strategies in teams of four or face the battle heads on by utilizing special intervention skills to sabotage their opponents. Death mazes, magic portals, and time manipulation are all part of a player’s strategy to become the ultimate champion in this epic tower-defense experience.

Beta applications are open on the official website, as well as a trailer, embeded below. The team is also prepping this as an esport, with a seasonal ranking system with the launch. While we don't have a launch date just yet, gamigo and developer Kinship Entertainment promise updates in the coming weeks.
