MMO Bookclub Short Lists Titles for Second Community Game

The MMO Bookclub is a group of MMO players who are tired of playing games alone. Each "cycle", players vote on a new game to play for a limited time. During that time, events are scheduled to include all members. After about three months, a vote is taken to choose the next game. After having played Lord of the Rings Online most recently, the time has come for the group to select the next adventure.

Games that have been "short listed" for selection include:

• DC Universe Online
• Elder Scrolls Online
• Final Fantasy XIV
• Guild Wars 2
• Star Wars: The Old Republic
• WildStar
• World of Warcraft

The first game to win the MMO Bookclub's vote was Lord of the Rings Online (LOTRO), and for the last five weeks players have been experiencing everything Middle Earth has to offer a group of plucky new adventurers. The full cycle will last three months. The second game is timed to start six weeks into LOTRO's cycle, and will also run for a full three months, meaning that Bookclub players will always have a choice of two games to play with the community.

"Having two games running at the same time means anyone can join in a game, without having to wait a full three months if they missed it, or weren't enjoying the current offering. It means there's always a second option," said Laezur, the group's founder.
