The MMO "Book Club" has started via a new Reddit thread and has already welcomed over 500 subscribers to the post as well as over 200 in the community's Discord channel. The aim of the group is to try a different MMO every few months with the express goal of giving players a chance to discover new games along with having a group of like-minded players with whom to game.
After a vote, the first game selected is Lord of the Rings Online. Players from all regions of the world logged in over the weekend and started new characters from scratch.
One user said, "I think I am in the same boat as most of the community in that I was just looking for an MMO to play, but nothing could hold my attention like the games I remember growing up with. Fact is I had very few people to play with, and I sometimes found myself trying to tackle community-driven content on my own. My hope is that The MMO Bookclub will breathe some new life into the games that we have previously drifted away from."
