Minecraft is turning 15 years old this month, and in honor of the milestone, the developers will be celebrating the momentous occasion for 15 days straight, bringing freebies, sales, and more.
For 15 consecutive days, there will be discounts, celebrations to join in on, and more as the event goes on. Though we are celebrating the last 15 years, we will also be taking a look at what’s in store for the future in Minecraft.
During the event, every day at 10 am PST, there will be a freebie to collect, which is an exclusive Character Creator item to get your hands on if you’d like. For new players not sure if they want to take the leap and begin their journey, select Minecraft games will be on sale for up to 50% off, including Minecraft Dungeons, Minecraft Legends which is no longer in development, and even some of the Deluxe and Ultimate editions.
From May 15th until May 30th, there will be several Twitch streams to tune into to get the Purple Heart Cape as a reward for watching at least 10 minutes of any of the confirmed streams. For those feeling generous, donating a sub to a streamer during the event will grant players the Glitch Mask as an extra reward. On May 18th, things will be taken over to TikTok, where we can bag ourselves a TikTok-themed cape for Bedrock Edition and a custom helmet frame to use with our TikTok profile photo.
There will be even more social media events going on throughout the event, including on Instagram, so be sure to check the Minecraft posts in order to gain as many rewards as possible for the duration of the event.
