If you’ve been following the trickling stream of Soulframe content, you’re in luck. At PAX East, the Digital Extremes team dropped a fresh new trailer with some gorgeous shots and a few snippets of gameplay.
This new trailer, named “Fey Pact,” primarily shows off more of the beautiful world players will be exploring, including a new poem:
Where ‘yond the veil did I chance to see you,
A little minnow in the claire.
A foundling here of mother’s sorrow,
Conveyed to me by beaver, by sparrow!
Blighted yes, or so they say,
More righted, though, in Feyish-way.
Come gather motes of living word,
…Come gather arms ‘gainst Ode’n herd
And join our family beyond yer blood,
For blight is child of everyone!
…even Bears…
And at the end, as per the poem, there’s even a bear wearing what appears to be some kind of combat gear, which sits down and upright casually, as if to greet the player. See, now I’m very interested, personally. Are my standards for interesting NPCs just that messed up?
The new action MMORPG has been shown in spurts, including through livestreams, gameplay videos, and closed early testing. Players are excited to see what Digital Extremes will do with this game, given the studio’s opportunity to build systems anew after over a decade of Warframe—not that the “ninja shooter” will go anywhere anytime soon.
