There are few systems and stats in the upcoming patch for Tom Clancy's The Division that won't be altered in one form or another in order to make the game "feel more like a shooter". The patch will be hitting the Public Test Server on September 26th so that players can see how the changes will affect their currently existing characters.
Developers have written that the update is needed to close the differences between optimized and non-optimized builds. While not stopping the ability for players to min-max and optimize, the update will "reduce the gap between the two extremes".
Some of the systems to be altered fairly significantly include:
- Gear Changes to stats, gear score, high end gear and talents, scavenging
- Weapons: mods and talents
- Armor: stamina to become the source of toughness, armor value, gear set rebalancing
- Skills: rebalance, removal of hard caps on skills
- Signature Skills: underused ones will be buffed and will receive functionality
- Consumable Changes
As you can tell by now, big changes are coming to The Division in Update 1.4. At first glance, it might look as if though we’re just raising or lowering numbers across the board, but mixed with the new enemy balancing and time to kill-changes detailed in our last development article, our goal is to make you feel more powerful once the update comes out. The current big numbers are going away, but that doesn’t mean you won’t feel a steady increase in power as you get better and better gear.
