Marvel Snap’s latest over-the-air update reverts the highly controversial nerf to Mobius M. Mobius and makes other tweaks to cards such as Shang Chi and Strong Guy.

The update also dives deep into what went into the Mobius M. Mobius nerf as well as Second Dinner’s plans to improve their processes in order to avoid having to make so many revisions to newly introduced cards in the future.

Let’s start with the balance changes.

Mobius M. Mobius returns to his original form as an Ongoing card that prevents your cards’ cost from being increased while prohibiting your opponent from reducing the cost of their own cards. It’s not a 100% reversion of the original nerf, however, as Mobius’s cost went up to 3 Energy.

A couple of smaller tweaks include buffs to cards like Doctor Strange, Strong Guy, and Jessica Jones.

  • Doctor Strange is now a 2/3 instead of a 3/3, which should make him more useable in move decks.
  • Jessica Jones received a small one point buff to her power, making her a 4/9 when her effect triggers.
  • Strong Guy retains the same effect but has had his cost and power reduced from a 4/4 to a 3/3 to make him easier to play with Hellcow on turn 4.

By far the most significant change made in the OTA (besides the un-nerfing of Mobius) is the game’s first tweak ever to Shang Chi. Cards with a power of 9 or above have had to live in fear of Shang Chi for as long as Marvel Snap has been live, but that changes today with a nerf that only allows him to destroy cards at 10 or above power.

A number of cards were tweaked to ensure that they remain in Shang Chi range, but this is overall a nerf to the card’s power in the meta.
