Marvel Snap’s latest balance update arrived with the release of its latest season earlier this week and brought with it some significant changes to Marvel’s Mad Titan, Thanos.
Thanos has been a tough nut to crack for Second Dinner. Its Infinity Stones lent itself well to a variety of ramp decks, often becoming dominant in the meta, but never focused on playing Thanos himself. After knocking the Mad Titan down a few pegs in recent patches, Second Dinner has finally made some changes that put more focus on playing Thanos and less on ramping out other cards.
These changes were enabled by a full sweep of the Infinity Stones Thanos adds to the player’s deck. Most notable are the changes to the Soul, Space, and Time Stones.
The Soul Stone has a new Ongoing effect. Instead of giving enemy cards at the location -1 power, it now makes it so Thanos can no longer be discarded or destroyed.
The Space Stone essentially turns Thanos into Jeff, by making it possible for Thanos to move or be played anywhere. Players will still need to use another card to move Thanos, however.
Lastly, the Time Stone’s -1 Cost to Thanos will be a permanent effect, instead of only active on the next turn.
There’s more in the update, too. Check out all the changes over at the official Marvel Snap website.
