Marvel Rivals Introduces The Fantastic Four and a Vampiric Dracula Plot in Season 1: Eternal Night Falls Trailer

Marvel Rivals’ “Season 1: Eternal Night Falls” trailer is out, and as promised, it introduces the Fantastic Four, along with Dracula.

That whole eternal night thing Is part of a plot between Dracula and Dr. Doom. The official description lays out the premise of the new season and some of what we can expect when it begins.

“Darkness engulfs New York as the Timestream Entanglement leaves Doctor Strange trapped in the Entangled Astral Plane, scattering the Darkhold pages. Dracula and Doctor Doom disrupt the moon’s orbit, plunging the city into eternal night and unleashing an army of vampiric creatures. With the world on the brink, the Fantastic Four join forces with iconic Marvel heroes, standing together in the epic battle to break the mystical darkness with science. Ignite the battle against Dracula with the Fantastic Four in Marvel Rivals!”

Mr Fantastic, the Invisible Woman, the Thing and The Human Torch join the lineup. The new trailer sets up the season but doesn't feature gameplay footage so we will have to see if we get another  peek before the season opens up.

NetEase’s free to play hero shooter has been doing well out of the gate, with a pretty packed roster of Marvel heroes and villains for its December 6th launch. Marvel Rivals attracted 10 million players in its first three days, later hitting 20 million in the first two weeks.

The new trailer doesn't show gameplay, but it does set up the premise and give Marvel’s first family a chance to display some of their powers. We'll have to see if we’ll get any new clips or additional details about what’s coming in the season update before it launches on January 10th at 1:00 p.m. PST.
