If you’re a fan of long-running MMORPG MapleStory or MapleStory M, then MapleStory Fest 2022 is something to look forward to. For the first time since the 2019 event, this year’s MapleStory Fest will be a mix of in-person and virtual activities.

With the addition of in-person events once again, the calendar will look a little different this year, but still offer a mix of announcements, community spotlights, and goodies for all. The event will still be streamed on the MapleStory  Twitch and Youtube channels, but for those who are able to attend the hybrid event in Los Angeles, there will be some exclusive activities.

Among the in-person opportunities include a gift bag at the door with swag, merchandise sales, being able to meet some of the team that work on MapleStory, playing games with other attendees, streamers, and to be present for the main presentation and all of the announcements. For those who want to watch the stream, there will be other events announced as we get closer to the November 12th date, but there will be  some exclusive in-game rewards, according to Nexon.

With a number of events holding hybrid events this year or preparing for this kind of mix in 2023, it isn’t surprising to see the MapleStory Fest in-person event return. Next summer, a rebooted E3 will be put on by ReedPop, the company that also puts on events like PAX. MapleStory Fest will still have a substantial amount of streamed content, though one might expect certain activities like the cosplay contests to resume in-person as well.

Still more to be announced and anything that they've already announced is subject to change, but it seems that Nexon is looking to bring back MapleStory Fest in person, while still extending lots of access to the at home crowd. With events like announcements, the main event, and Boss Blitz finale featured on stream.
