Wizards of the Coast has announced the first details of the Magic: The Gathering Arena Mythic Invitational. This is the first major esports tournament for the digital game based on the tabletop series. Players will be competing for a share of the $1M prize pool, with the top player taking home $250,000. The event will be held in Boston, MA from March 28-31, 2019.
Challengers from MTG Arena can qualify to compete in the Mythic Invitational by winning their way to top 8 in Mythic Constructed Ranking for February. Wizards of the Coast will publish official rankings weekly during February so challengers can keep tabs on their performance and track how they stack up against the competition. Ranking will end at 12:00 PM Pacific Time on February 28th, with final rankings published on March 4th.
