The highly-anticipated ARPG Magic: Legends has published their first State of Development blog on their website from Executive Producer Stephen Ricossa, and announced an upcoming Close Alpha test.
This developer blog explains how the concept for Magic: Legends came to be, as well as explains how the team eventually landed on the Action RPG genre. It also dives into animations, build balancing, special effects, UI, and the game engine. But the biggest news is the announcement of a Closed Alpha test coming next month.
“I’m proud to officially announce that our first Closed Alpha playtest will be happening this June! We’ll be inviting 15,000-20,000 people from those that signed up for beta since we opened for registration in December. The first playtest will be under a strict NDA, but we’ll continue posting blog features and hosting streams to highlight what you can expect when you become a Planeswalker in Magic: Legends!”
It’s not too late to sign up for the Closed Alpha on their website, and if you’re interested in what gameplay for Magic: Legends will be like then you can read our impressions from PAX East 2020.
