Magic: Legends is coming from Cryptic Studios, though the studio has a history with the IP thanks to CEO Steve D'Angelo. In an interview with Game Informer, D'Angelo talks about his history with Magic: The Gathering as well as how the upcoming MMO was pitched.
In a video interview with Game Informer as part of their month-long coverage of Magic: Legends, Cryptic CEO Steve D'Angelo breaks down his history with the card game, helping to establish the rulings of the card game just a few weeks after it released in 1993. For nearly a decade D'Angelo worked with Wizards of the Coast to define the rulings used by judges throughout the Magic world.
D'Angelo also goes into detail about how Magic: Legends was pitched to Wizards of the Coast - and how it felt doomed from the start. It's an interesting interview and definitely worth watching.
MMORPG had the chance to talk to Executive Producer Stephen Ricossa earlier this week as well, breaking down the MMO features players can expect to see from the upcoming game. You can check out that interview here.
