There's a brand new brief look at mobile gameplay for Mad World that shows off just what cross-play will look like between PC and mobile. The final alpha test has also been scheduled for next month, with a final release set for later this year.
Mad World’s hack and slash gameplay blended with dark lore and storytelling at its core has always been planned as a cross-platform release. Now, In a brief clip you can see what it's like to play Mad World on your phone and have the PC version respond. Since the game is built in HTML5 it will be playable seamlessly with cross-platform play and progression.
Meanwhile, the final alpha test for the game has been scheduled for May 25th. Following the alpha test, they plan to use the data and feedback in order to polish up the game for a planned Q3 release. First stop will be released on PC and mobile, and eventually they are aiming to expand the release to other platforms like Steam, Facebook, and later to consoles.
The previous alpha test ended just over a month ago at the end of February, so we should expect a number of significant updates to the build that goes live for the final alpha. There’s no word on whether to expect a beta to follow on the road to release, just that there will be time spent polishing things up.
Jandisoft has taken alpha testers via registrations on the Mad World MMO site, so this may be the way you can try to get an invite to the test in May. If you want to get a look at what the game has to offer, you can sign up and register there. Participants in prior alpha tests have generally gotten invites to the next phase.
