Mad World will formally release to all on April 26th/27th, but for some, Early Access begins today. The early start for the dark MMORPG begins today for those with top tier Founder’s Packs.
There will be two levels of Early Access for Founder’s Pack owners. Those with gold and platinum will get five days and those with silver and bronze packages will get three days. For those whose access begins today, the game went live at 11 AM EDT/ 8 AM PDT/ 3 PM GMT and can be played through a browser or through Jandisoft’s client.
For those with the lower tier pass packages, the three-day Early Access launch will begin this Sunday, April 23rd, 11 AM EDT/ 8 AM PDT/ 3 PM GMT.
The Early Access period of five or three days comes with a warning that there won’t be any compensation if you miss any playtime during those set hours. There’s also a new FAQ about all things Early Access and launch. If you participate, you’ll be able to play up to Act 3, getting only that far into the story, but it seems that you’ll be able to explore the world and do other things, just not progress the story past that point until the game launches to all.
That official launch will happen on April 26th at 11 AM EDT/ 8 AM PDT, which is the 27th in Korea, when the game will be updated and Act 4 will be released. Act 5 will follow on May 4th, so there will be a little potential gating if you’re intending on playing through things quickly. Act 5 promises more content and more powerful demons, so we should also see other features too.
The team also welcomes feedback on the launch process and new developments in their grimdark, cross-platform MMORPG. After revealing bits of what to expect, from lore, to world details, to bosses, monsters, locations, and music, Mad World is finally opening its doors
