Mad World has a new intro video and a tease of a release date announcement coming soon. Jandisoft’s dark MMORPG is also continuing its pre-registration campaign, with over 100k signups so far.
The video is short, and it does serve to introduce the concept of the game. “Blood and scream mixed in chaos” it says at one point, emphasizing the disastrous events that destroyed the world and left such despair. The team has been revealing a lot of the lore, monsters, and some of the locations over the past couple of months. The official description from the video captions sets things up.
“The peaceful sky of Gruzaam was ripped open by the Abyssal Sky, through which demon invasion began.
Countless people stood together to protect their families and beloved ones against the demons.
Alas, humans met gruesome defeat in their battle, and now Gruzaam is dominated by demons.
And now begins the story of Shadow Children that survived the massive massacre.”
If you’ve been following Mad World at all, this will be familiar by now, yet the release of this intro tease does have some important info. After taking us through disaster, fear, and despair, and finally to a glimmer of hope, the screen flashes “Survival is your only option!”. Then it says that Mad World will be released on Steam, with the following: “the release date will be announced next week”.
With the game regarded as feature complete for launch and needing to get those last few coats of polish, Jandisoft is readying for release. For now, the date is still set for the first half of 2023, but as it is almost April, the tease of a release date announcement makes perfect sense.
Also of note is that there have been over 100,000 pre-registrations since the campaign began several weeks ago. The event continues, with a new goal towards the launch.
