After weeks of regular updates from the Mad World team, showing off a number of preview clips, settings, monsters and bosses, locations, and audiobook lore excerpts, from the game, it seems that this series of previews has come to a close--or has it, since a new OST preview was shared today. The team announced on Twitter that “We will come back with better events”.
There have been a large number of clips released, giving a lot of detail about what to expect from the world, the creatures, the forgotten and corrupted monsters, and the people who are trying to survive in a dark, post-apocalyptic world. For a cross-platform HTML5-based MMORPG, Mad World is not holding back on the atmosphere and the grimdark horror the team has been inspired by. It can get pretty creepy.
If it has been a while since you’ve paid attention to Mad World’s reveals, the team would release what they called a quiz, which was essentially just a clue or a snippet with a caption that they were later going to elaborate on with a video. While the quiz part seems to be over, the previews look to continue.
In some of the recent entries, a couple sneaks off for some private time in a laboratory, only to find skeletons and maybe some new discovery. In ‘Evergreen Forest’ we visit a woman who finds herself in the forest and with her, maybe lost, or maybe not, it is unclear. Other clips introduce us to many more of the monsters we’ll find, such as the Merminid tribe. Some others are OST clips, offering a chance to listen to the sometimes chilling music while also getting a taste of a location or something else in the accompanying clip.
The daily quiz event is now over. We will come back with better events.

Altogether, these hints and previews may have seemed like an unusual rush of info and material, released bit by bit, along with the longer audiobook lore clips, but it does give a sense of the world that Jandisoft has created.
They promised grimdark, and a painful world to live in, horror, and even a dash of hope. Find out more about the game, and its premise and features over at Mad World.
