The Lord of the Rings Online is planning to open its new US-based 64-bit server, Sting and launch update 44.1, but it will happen a little later than originally planned.
Standing Stone Games announced a launch date of tomorrow, May 7th, and that was even included in the most recent Cord of the Rings stream. Later, on Friday, Cordovan updated the community via the LOTRO forums to say that incorrect information was included in the most recent stream.
Standing Stone Games’ new release date for Update 44.1, the next in the Crown of Hamât series, and the Sting 64-bit server is now Wednesday, May 14th. It's clear that they are working carefully to open this next 64-bit server and likely trying to avoid any of the issues that accompanied the first 64-bit server launch. Makes sense to release this alongside the next update since the downtime will coincide.
As for the anniversary event it will now run until 3:00 a.m. Eastern on May 27th. Originally supposed to end on May 12th and then was extended and now the 18th anniversary will go on just a bit longer. Festival Nostalgia missions will be part of the event as well.
