The Lord of the Rings Online is known for its incredible player community, and the Crickhollow server is getting into the concert festival action with its Laliapalooza 2024 event happening later this month.

This isn't the first time players have gathered for major music festivals in Middle-earth; LotRO's Landroval server hosts an annual Weatherstock concert at the summit of Weathertop every summer. While that concert is meant to evoke the feeling of real-life Woodstock concerts, Laliapalooza is aimed at replicating Lalapalooza, all in the center of Bree-town.

Taking place underneath the red and white canopy outside Lalia's in Bree-town, the concert will focus on alternative rock and grunge bands, with groups taking the stage starting at 4pm Eastern on September 21st. The concert will run through midnight Eastern, with an afterparty Stay-n-Play festival for any band who shows up and wants to lay down a track.

Via the announcement post on the LotRO forums:

"We'll be starting out this year with a brief Warm-up @ 3:30pm, Alt Rock Band 4 piece acoustic, along with a brief History of Alternative Rock, the Grunge scene, MTV's 120 Minutes, and just reminiscing about the 90's. And ending with an Alternative Afterparty, a Round Robin for any band to join and show off some of their Alt Rock. Alt Rock Band and the Teedees will be playing with whoever else wants to join us, until we run out of 90's Alt Rock, which may take a while, even after 8 preceding hours of Alternative Rock...We've got a lot of it, and we want to share!"
